IIT Delhi: Admission Process and Eligibility Criteria (2019-21)


IIT Delhi is a premier engineering institute in the country. However, the Department of Management Studies at IIT Delhi is the school of management education and research. The school offers 2-year full time MBA programs and accepts the CAT exam score for admission to the MBA programs. The Department of Management Studies at IIT Delhi was ranked 8th among the top management schools in the country by the NIRF 2018 Institute Rankings. 
Programs Offered @ IIT Delhi

The Department of Management Studies (DMS), IIT Delhi offers admission in the following management programs:
MBA
This is a full time MBA program that aims at developing holistic managers who are acquainted  in both conventional and modern management thinking and can adapt comfortably to the changing business requirements. The program provides the students with various routes to the industry, matching its requirements with their skills and predispositions. Some of the core subjects covered in the course are Information Systems, Finance, Marketing, Strategic Management and Operations Management. Along with the functional areas of specialization, the students also get a cross functional perspective. 
MBA (Telecom)
This is full time MBA Program with focus in Telecommunication Systems Management. This programme aims at imparting students with the knowledge of all the business functions such as Information Systems, Finance, Marketing, Strategic Management, Human Resources Management, with a strong emphasis on Telecommunications Systems Management. This programme draws Telecom technology inputs from Bharti School of Telecom Technology and Management of IIT Delhi.
IIT Delhi Admission Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aspiring to secure admission at the Department of Management Studies at IIT Delhi need to satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
Masters in Business Administration (MBA) 
Aspirants must have a bachelor's degree (minimum 3 years duration) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
They must also have a minimum 60% aggregate marks in the graduation or 6.00 CGPA on a 10 point scale or equivalent in qualifying degree.  Candidates belonging to SC/ST category must have a minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA i.e. 5.50 on a 10 point scale.
Candidates appearing in their final year examination of the bachelor's degree or an equivalent examination are also eligible to apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the program  provisionally and will be required to submit the degree certificate/mark sheet by certain date.
Aspirants will need to apply and appear for the CAT 2018 exam. They would also be required to score the minimum required cut off percentile in the CAT exam.
MBA (Telecommunication Systems Management)
Aspirants must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering/technology/architecture /pharmacy/B.Sc. Agriculture Engineering (minimum 4 years duration).
OR
Bachelor's degree in any branch of Physical/Chemical/Mathematical Sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Application, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computational/Information Science, Agriculture or Bachelor's Degree in Commerce/ Economics, CA/ICWA.
Aspirants must have a minimum of 60% percent aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA in the qualifying degree examination. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH category must have a minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA i.e. 5.50 on a 10 point scale.
Candidates appearing in their final year examination of the bachelor's degree or an equivalent examination are also eligible to apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the program  provisionally and will be required to submit the degree certificate/mark sheet by certain date.

IIT Delhi 2019-21 Admission Selection Process

IIT Delhi follows the below mentioned steps for shortlisting students for its admission selection process.
Aspirants need to appear for the CAT 2018 exam and also score the minimum required cut off percentile to be eligible for participation in the admission process.
Candidates who have applied for the IIT Delhi Admission process and have obtained the minimum required cut-off percentile in the CAT exam are called in for the Final Admission Shortlisting Process.
The Final Admission Shortlisting Process comprises the Writing Ability Test (WAT) and the Personal Interview Round. Candidates are shortlisted for this phase on the basis of their Class 12th marks, marks scored in graduation, marks scored in master's (if applicable), work experience, CAT exam score etc.
IIT Delhi 2019-21 Course Fees

IIT Delhi is yet to announce the admission process for the 2019-21 MBA batch. The total program fees for the 2018-20 MBA program was Rs 80 Lakhs. The program fees for the MBA Program is non-refundable.  However, XLRI Fee Fixation Committee reserves the final rights to change the course fee.
